Willy’s Wonderland

When this came out, I was super excited. Nicolas Cage and animatronics that kill. Who wouldn’t like this? I know that we’ve been waiting forever for a Five Nights At Freddy’s movie and this seems very similar. But I don’t care. I’ll still see that movie. For now, Willy’s Wonderland scratches that itch that I didn’t realize I needed.

PLOT:

In order to fix his car, a man agrees to spend the night in Willy’s Wonderland. All he has to do is clean it up. Meanwhile, a group of teens break in on a mission to destroy Willy’s Wonderland. All must fight to survive the night.

Congratulations. You are officially on staff!--Tex

Oh boy! Lots of kills, but most are in flashbacks. We do get about 10 kills. I think the best kill is Sheriff Lund’s. She is ripped in half at the waist by Willy the Weasel. I had more fun with the animatronics killing the teens and the Janitor (that’s what Nicolas Cage is called) killing the animatronics. I thought it was funny the first fight the Janitor had with Ozzie Ostrich. Just him punching the Ostrich.

Acting for the most part is good. Beth Grant as the sheriff and Emily Tosta as Liv did pretty good. The only one who did better was Nicolas Cage and he had no lines in the movie! I think Nicolas Cage cleaning, playing pinball, drinking soda, and occasionally kicking animatronics ass was the best. I don’t think any other actor could have pulled off not speaking through the whole movie.

I wanted to take a quick break to let you know I found these great deals on Amazon for Willy’s Wonderland merchandise. I’ve applied to Amazon’s affiliate program and if I can get three purchases I will be accepted into the program. This will be of tremendous help with starting my small business.

He's not trapped in there with them. They're trapped in here with him.--Liv

I know it has a very basic plotline. A man is trapped in Willy’s Wonderland where the animatronics were possessed by a bunch of evil serial killers. The sheriff of the town made a deal with WIlly so they wouldn’t kill the townspeople. So random people will be trapped in the building to be sacrificed to the killers. I hope we get another movie that further develops Nicolas Cage’s character. Like why doesn’t he talk? Why doesn’t the killer animatronics surprise him? Needless to say, if there is a sequel I’m here for it. If you still haven’t watched this, go and watch it. It’s a fun movie.

And now for your Forever Final Girl Exclusive…Did you know?:

  • Nicolas Cage improvised the pinball dance.

  • Nicolas Cage produced the movie as he was very protective of the script.

  • Despite Nicolas Cage's character never talking, at around 3 minutes military ID tags can be seen hanging from the rear view mirror of his car. The plates are a hint to Cage's character U.S. Army Ranger Cameron Poe from 1997 Con Air.

  • The look of crocodile animatronic was inspired by Soviet cartoon Gena the Crocodile (1969).

  • One of the producers, Grant Cramer, is the actor who played Mike Tobacco in Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988).
